In My Mailbox is a weekly meme created by Kristi at The Story Siren that gives readers the chance to share the books they bought/received/swapped/rented over the past week.

This Week

This week, by hubby and I took a bike ride to the library. We moved back to our home town back in September, but this was the first time we took the time to go to the library. I wish we would have went sooner! So, I took three books out from the library this week.

The Replacement by Brenna Yovanoff
Pages: 352
Publication Date: September 21, 2010
Publisher: Razorbill

Mackie Doyle seems like everyone else in the perfect little town of Gentry, but he is living with a fatal secret - he is a Replacement, left in the crib of a human baby sixteen years ago. Now the creatures under the hill want him back, and Mackie must decide where he really belongs and what he really wants.

A month ago, Mackie might have told them to buzz off. But now, with a budding relationship with tough, wounded, beautiful Tate, Mackie has too much to lose. Will love finally make him worthy of the human world?

Oooo, a lil romance with someone who is not necisarily human? Yes please! I love books where boys kiss girls... or the other way around too!

 Shiver by Maggie Steifvator
Pages: 400
Publication Date: June 1, 2010
Publisher: Scholastic Paperbacks

the cold.
Grace has spent years watching the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf—her wolf—watches back. He feels deeply familiar to her, but she doesn't know why.

the heat.
Sam has lived two lives. As a wolf, he keeps the silent company of the girl he loves. And then, for a short time each year, he is human, never daring to talk to Grace...until now.

the shiver.
For Grace and Sam, love has always been kept at a distance. But once it's spoken, it cannot be denied. Sam must fight to stay human—and Grace must fight to keep him—even if it means taking on the scars of the past, the fragility of the present, and the impossibility of the future

Yes! It took a while, but I am finally giving into the phenomenon that is Shiver. This girl is usually all about angel, vampire, and different paranormal romances. Werewolf romance is not usually included, but I am beginning to come along! Shiver does sound infatuating to me.

Blood and Chocolate by Annette Curtis Klause
Pages: 264
Publication Date: August 14, 2007
Publisher: Delacorte Books for Young Readers

Vivian Gandillon relishes the change, the sweet, fierce ache that carries her from girl to wolf. At sixteen, she is beautiful and strong, and all the young wolves are on her tail. But Vivian still grieves for her dead father; her pack remains leaderless and in disarray, and she feels lost in the suburbs of Maryland. She longs for a normal life. But what is normal for a werewolf?
Then Vivian falls in love with a human, a meat-boy. Aiden is kind and gentle, a welcome relief from the squabbling pack. He's fascinated by magic, and Vivian longs to reveal herself to him. Surely he would understand her and delight in the wonder of her dual nature, not fear her as an ordinary human would.
Vivian's divided loyalties are strained further when a brutal murder threatens to expose the pack. Moving between two worlds, she does not seem to belong in either. What is she really—human or beast? Which tastes sweeter—blood or chocolate?
(From Goodreads)
I know that Blood and Chocolate is not new, but I really want to read it! I watched the movie before I know that it was a book and knew that I wanted to read it. It is interesting to me that the main character, a werewolf, is female. That is not normally something that I see, a female werewolf. Awesome!

What is in your mailbox this week??

Happy Shooting, Junkies!

This must be Replacement week. A lot of people have it in their IMM. Just in case you don't know, the movie is different than the book, but I hope you still enjoy it.

Happy reading!
