In My Mailbox Monday (5)

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme created by Kristi at The Story Siren that gives readers the chance to share the books they bought/received/swapped/rented over the past week.

This Week
I bought my first book from Amazon this week. And I am so excited to read this book! It is a very interesting concept to me that love could be considered a disease. And then, to say that there is a cure. What maniac would want to cure love?! Anyways, so excited for Delirium. I hope I read some boy girl, forbidden girl kissing in this one! Thanks for the great person that recommended this one to me.
Delirium by Lauren Oliver
Pages: 448
Publication Date: February 1, 2011
Publisher: HarperCollin
(From Goodreads)
Before scientists found the cure, people thought love was a good thing. They didn’t understand that once love -- the deliria -- blooms in your blood, there is no escaping its hold. Things are different now. Scientists are able to eradicate love, and the governments demands that all citizens receive the cure upon turning eighteen. Lena Holoway has always looked forward to the day when she’ll be cured. A life without love is a life without pain: safe, measured, predictable, and happy.

But with ninety-five days left until her treatment, Lena does the unthinkable: She falls in love.
Happy Shooting, Junkies!!

Haha, got the ironic part. I know, I can already tell it is going to be addicting and it will stay put on my bookshelf. No donation for this beauty!
