About the Author
Away from her writing, Annie is the mother of the two most adorable girls in the world, has the best husband in the world, and lives in the hottest place in the world (not really, but Phoenix sure feels like it).
From Goodreads

"15 Things to Know About Me" Annie Oldham Edition!

1.    I have the best husband in the world (Sorry to all of you ladies with fabulous hubbies. Though I might be a little biased.) I also have the two cutest girls in the world.

2.    A pet peeve: people who stop in the middle of the aisle. Surely you've seen it: you're walking through Target, you know what you want and you're on a mission. Then the person in front of you stops right in the middle of the aisle (the worst is when it's for no apparent reason), and you have to stop so fast your cart wheels screech and you swerve to avoid the collision. And the said aisle-blocker is completely oblivious.

3.    I love me a good tear-jerker. Books, movies, commercials... Come to think of it, I actually don't need a terk-jerker. I just cry at the drop of a hat. The last tear-jerker in my life:

I sobbed the last quarter of the book. So have the tissues ready if you read it.

4.   I write to stave off the mommy-brain-rot. I don't know how many times I've been talking to people, and I start talking to them like they're two years old. Please help me! I think. I know you're not two-years-old, but those are the people I talk to all day. Writing definitely helps with this chronic condition. It's a wonderful outlet.

5.    I love to sing and play the piano. I grew up with music in my house, and I still love to sit at the piano and play and/or sing. And my girls love to dance while I do it. Those are some of my favorite moments.

6.    I love to bake. Not cook, really. Because baking is so much more delicious: bread, rolls, desserts... Here's one of my favorites: sticky toffee pudding. If you've never had it, google it.

7.    I have no will power, none at all, when it comes to sweets. It's dangerous for me to make cookies or brownies, or anything at all, and have it sitting around the house. It'll be gone before my husband gets home. And then he's put out because he didn't get to have one.

8.    I'm a twin, and she's my best friend. It wasn't always that way, believe me. We were mortal enemies in high school and college. And no, I can't feel her pain or read her thoughts (though I'd be rich if I got a penny for every time people asked me that). There she is:

(That's me holding my first born when she was just itty bitty.)

9.    I guess that leads me to my next item. I love the outdoors. Camping, hiking, just being outside. It's glorious. And easy to do in Arizona. I mean, that pic was taken at the beginning of March and we're in short-sleeve shirts!

10.    Another pet peeve: people who don't know how to turn their cell phones off. The worst offenders: sitting in the middle of church, and you hear a Black-eyed Peas ring tone. I have nothing against the Black-eyed Peas. I enjoy a lot of their music. But the middle of church? Really?

11.    My girls make me laugh more than anyone else. They also aggravate me more than anyone else, but we won't go into details here.

12.    I'm a runner. I ran a 1/2 marathon a couple years ago and loved it. I used to listen to music while I ran, but it wasn't enough of a distraction. Now I listen to audio books while I run, and it's awesome. It keeps me coming back for more.

     13.    It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is my favorite holiday by far. Halloween is my second.

14.    I live in Phoenix, so I'm enjoying the 65 degree weather while Sonny is shivering in the snow. Though in the summer, we get these:

It's called a haboob. A wall of dust that just attacks, I swear. This is the view from my back yard.

15.    My next book, Bound, will be out in the spring. I'm really excited about it—it has faeries, magic, romance, action, dancing, kidnapping, awesome bad guys, and kissing. The love interest is swoon-worthy. Get ready!

Thanks so much for your interview, Annie! I loved learning so much more about you. I know I am very much anticipating your books to come :)

Goodreads Synopsis

The Burn is full of nuclear fallout, roving gangs, anarchy, unreliable plumbing. That's what Terra's father tells her. She has lived her whole life in comfort in a colony at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean. She hates it. And she would pay any price to leave. But when Terra finally escapes the colony, she finds out her father is right.

She finds a group of survivors that quickly become friends, and every day with them is a race for survival. When she witnesses and commits unspeakable acts, she has to decide where her loyalty lies: with the colony she despises or The Burn, where every day is filled with nightmares.
