Follow Friday (31)

FOLLOW MY BOOK BLOG FRIDAY IS HOSTED BY PARAJUNKEE AND ALLISON CAN READ.

Q: Which book genre do you avoid at all costs and why?

Well, I guess I am really not sure. I usually only read YA. I tried reading adult fiction a few years ago, pretending to be all grown up and sophisticated. That sure didn't work out!
The stories of YA books are just fun. And usually well written. It also needs to have some romance. I am a total romance junkie!
So, instead of what I don't read, I only read YA. Well, most of the time :P

Leave me your link!!

I haven't read that much YA until I started blogging and saw all the hype for YA books around the blogosphere. I love romance though!

I love YA books too but if it's a scary book, it doesn't matter to me what genre it is. I won't read it. I don't like to be scared! I know, I'm a wimp. :)

New follower. Have a great weekend!

Hopping through. I read a lot of adult non-fiction but mostly YA fiction. I like it better than adult.

I stick with my YA too. I read adult books on occasion but I've pretty much given up on trying to be grown up and sophisticated. Why give up something that's just SO good?

I pretty much only read YA too, though there are some adult books I love (Life of Pi, The Book of Negroes, The Help). The first two I listed were my required reading in grade 8, and I'm so glad I got to read them, because I normally wouldn't pick up adult books. New follower!

Haha, I have trouble explaining to people why I opt for YA books over adult books...they're just more interesting!

During my senior year in high school and during my freshman year of college I tried getting into "grown-up fiction" books. I though that since I'd crossed the threshold into adulthood, reading YA books would be frowned upon. That was nearly five years ago, and most of the books ended up being a flop for me. I've kind of given up on trying to get into "grown-up fiction", and now I'm proud to proclaim that I'm in my 20s, and I still love YA books. The only time I will venture into adult books is if I am familiar with the author.
