Why I Adore... was started right here at Literary Junkie. In this meme, I will be talking about the things that I adore that week, some book related, some just from my life. Pretty simple, and you learn a little more about crazy little me.
Why I Adore...
YA Romance!
If you know me at all, you know that I am totally ADDICTED to YA romance. Any YA romance is basically on my TBR list. I love the love in these books are usually harsh, passionate, and fervent. Almost always on the brink of firework! And sometimes the moment before the kiss is better than the actual kiss.
So, here are a few different reasons why I completely adore YA romance.
1. The writing.
The authors of YA romance just hit the nail on the head for me with lines like:
“There is no pretending," Jace said with absolute clarity. "I love you, and I will love you until I die, and if there is life after that, I'll love you then.”
― Cassandra Clare, City of Glass
― Cassandra Clare, City of Glass
and
Edward: "And so the lion fell in love with the lamb."
Bella: "What a stupid lamb."
Edward: "What a sick, masochistic lion."
Bella: "What a stupid lamb."
Edward: "What a sick, masochistic lion."
The writing keeps me always coming back for more, wanting to read just one more page (which ends up to be about 20) and making my blood boil. I also have a huge problem with keeping dry eyes when reading a great book.
2. The Kick-a** heroines
The MC"s that are right in the center of almost every YA book are normally average, normal, everyday kind of people. Well, most of the time. It does sometimes go from average, everyday girl, to kick-butt yet slightly awkward hero. I love it. It makes me feel like someday, maybe I could be a little kick-butt myself. Hey, a girl can dream.3. Love triangles.
Love triangles make some romances even more interesting. Let's face it girls, we love a bad boy. And to know that one boy could possibly punch another in the face, or that the wrong boy will kiss the girl pumps the blood faster. Some people do get annoyed that it is used so often. And that is absolutely okay. But me? I am still addicted.
4. The boys.
Oh, the angsty, loving, sweet, pushy, long eye-lashed, shaggy haired boys. The boys are part of what makes the whole YA romance world spin. Some of these boys have jaw-dropping good looks; others move like angels, are rough as rock, or awkward and klutzy. How ever the boy it, they normally steal our hearts and tickle our senses. And they almost always have a great line to share."Is this the part where you start tearing off strips of your shirt to bind my wounds?" [Clary]
"If you wanted me to rip my clothes off, you should have just asked." [Jace]
Let me just give you a small visual on the boys that you read about in YA romance books. I hope you enjoy :D
I do like the boys.
What do you adore??

Love this post!
I don't like Twilight but even I have to admit, that was a good quote.
