Follow Friday

Follow my Book Blog Friday is hosted by Parajunkee.

Q. ACK! Your favorite book/movie character (example Hermione Granger played by the Emma chick) just walked into the room! Who is it and what would be your first reaction? You get extra points if you include visual stimulation.

I am back to the Ho! Yay! I have been sooo busy that I have had to skip hopping for a few weeks. Boo. But, here we are again!

So, I am totally going the Twilight route. I have to honestly say that this series is the one to thank for my obsession. I have always loved reading, but Twilight really made it fly.

Who would I absolutely swoon at??

Probably all of them, but I have a top few.

Kristen Stewart- Bella Swan

I actually love her akwardness and think that she does such an awesome job as Bella.

She seems like such a chill and seriously cool person that I would probably just stare, while pretending that I am not. I would had no idea what to say.

Rob Pattinson- Edward Cullen

I feel that Rob is an incredible actor. I spose it does help that he is good looking ;) I was amazed at his talent in Remember Me the other day. It is strange to see him outside of Twilight, but he was brilliant.

I would probably react the same as for KS, but maybe swoon a lil more. Haha

Jackson Rathborne- Jasper Hale

Great looking man, hello! How handsome is he?? I love his personality, and his face (oo) I would have to roll my tongue off of the floor if he were to stroll into Wisconsin. And forget about speak, my mouth would be full of dirt.

Billy Burke- Charlie Swan

Charlie was one of my fav character of the series. He makes me feel warm and happy. He is a great father in a quiet sort of way.

Anyways, Billy does a fab job as Charlie. I have seen him in recent trailers for another movie, and he actually looks bad-ass. I love it!

Billy walks into my life, and it would take me a while, but I would want to talk to him. He seems like the type of person you just have to meet.

Who is walking into your life this week??

I just had to add this one!

The magic book fairy pops out of your cereal box and says "you and your favorite character (from a book of course) can switch places!" Who are you going to switch with?

Well, my first and very obvious choice would be Clary from Mortal Instruments. These are basically my all time favorite books!!

Reason 1: Jace is amazing hot. Period. It is hard for me to imagine anyone but Alex Pettyfer as Jace.

Drool...

Reason 2: Clary is kick butt! She gets thrown into this rad world or monsters, magic, and other worlds, and barely even bats an eyes. She is pretty awesome.

 Reason 3:

I love the setting of the Urban Fantasy World in New York. It is so real, so close to home (even though I live in Wisconsin. A girl can dream.). My cousin and I used to say that we would move to New York and make our way through college while working as waitresses. Well, I am pretty happy how my life is turning out, so dreams with stay dreams. I would so love to visit Mortal Instruments New York, though.

Point is, I think the Mortal Instruments are amazing, and I would love to share a day as Clary.

What one of your favorite characters would you switch places with???

What are you doing to prepare for an upcoming zombie apocalypse and/or the return of Mel Gibson to the silver screen? (Both of which could be terrifying.)

Well, my hubby has an awesome collection of swords, katanas, and daggers. I just might be able to use them to do some amazing, Matrix style, Mortal Instruments butt kickin' with those babies! For the Zombies, that is.
I also hear that bats are a good defense. Not sure if would be all too keen on the sound that it would make as it connects with skull... So, bats are out.
Guns would probably be a good idea too. Double tap! I could shoot a gun. I am from Wisconsin! If worse come to worse, I could loot some from my neighbors. Bahaha! I guess I should start going shooting with my hubby and our buddy to upgrade my killer stare to a killer shot.
Funny story. The hubs and I were visiting the lil ole sword stand at the mall a few months ago when I noticed a new sign on their kiosk. What was it about??
The Zombie Apocaypse!!
It was something along the lines of "Don't come running back if a zombie apocalypse arises, because we will be closed and using the weapons to save our own asses!" Well, something like that...
Here is for your own amusement... well, maybe to also keep in mind!

I love it!
Gotta go and brush up on my killer moves.

What kind of deathly zombie killing moves do you kick butt at??

"What book-to-movie adaption have you most liked?  Which have you disliked?"

Funny thing, my hubby and I were just talking about this the other day. I really enjoy book-to-movie adaptations, even when they aren't at all like the books. I love to see those worlds come to life, even if it's through some others eyes. With that said, I love love love the Harry Potter movies. My aunt took me to the first movie before I ever read the books. But, you bet your butt I went out and read all of the books that were out. They never get old. Another one is The Lord of the Rings. I have never read these books, but I really like the movies. They are my hubby's favorite books.

It's circle time. Time for us to open up and share.

How many books do you read in a week? And in what format do you read them, or listen to them?

I usually read about 1 to 2 books a week. I have a hard time listening to books, so I mostly stick to paper.

If I really get into a book, I can have to done in just a day or two. Reading all the details is very important to me. I have a friend who only skims the pages, and only reads the big parts. Drives me nuts! I couldn't do it. Sometimes I read a paragraph over to get the whole idea and make sure it sticks. I am a detail lover.

Happy Reading, Junkies!

"If you were given the chance to spend one day in a fictional world (from a book), which book would it be from and what would that place be?"

My immediate thought is Alice in Wonderland. I have loved this story for years and years and also love the all the movies about Wonderland. The interesting chaos calls to me! My favorite part in the movie is the talking flowers.

It's circle time. Time for us to open up and share. Can you tell us FIVE quirky habits or things about you? We all have them...

1. I am crazy about the organization of my cupboards, drawers, or anything else in my house. If it is messy and I made it that way, it is totally ok! If someone else made it that way, like my hubby..., it drives me crazy and I have to move it. My hubby gets out of washing dishes a lot because of this compulsion of mine. Darn you OCD!

2. I always have a book with me. And I am not only saying this for the sake of my blog. Seriously! When I go to B&N, I have to leave my purse (suitcase really) in the car because it is so heavy with books and other random things. So addicted.

3. I have a thing with counting and reading everything. If I see a sign, I have to read it. If I miss it, I have to go back and read it again. I count steps, stairs, pictures, you name it. Not debilitating thought. Totally learned to deal with it. Haha

4. I touch everything, especially the things with signs yelling at me not to. I like to feel the textures of the world on my finger tips. If I own it, I have to rub it on my lips.

5. I have odd sorts of names that I give the children at work and my cat Aracos. Things like Bean, Bubba, Buggy, Blubba... hmm, guess I have a thing for nicknames starting with "b". Even if I have just made up that name, the child I am calling it by always seems to know I am talking to them.

So, there are my strange and a tad odd quirks. Guess they are just a few things that make me Me.

"Are you going to Book Expo America (BEA) and/or the Book Blogger Convention (BBC) this year?"

Oh, do I wish! I am very new to the blog-o-sphere, so I only just heard of these events in the recent days. But do I want to go!! Sounds like so much fun. Maybe someday in the near future I can convince my oh-so-wonderful hubby to take me. Yeah!
So, how about you? Do you get to experience the amazing events in the wonderful world of books?? If you do, let me know about your experience. I am a great listener, after all!

Today's question:

The Blogger Apocalypse made me a little emotional. What is the most emotional scene in a book that you have read lately?

Hmm, I have to think about this for a moment. (Taking a look at my book pile...) Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins.

I can't really say which part with out a spoiler, so I will keep my mouth shut! Well, mostly. There is a part toward the end that had me splashing tears onto my pages that were worthy of Alice in Wonderland. Yes, I do get sucked into my books this much. *points at blog name* No, no thanks, I am good without rehab.

What is a recent book you have read that induced a movie worthy sob-fest??

Happy Shooting, Junkies!

"Summer is coming quickly - what 2011 summer release are you are most looking forward to?"

These are my Fix Picks that I am looking forward to for this summer!

Author: Jeff Hirsch
Pages: 204

“With its crumbling Starbucks and rusting theme parks, The Eleventh Plague hits disturbingly close to home, vividly depicting a world that has nose-dived into a futuristic nightmare. Fifteen-year-old Stephen Quinn struggles to define his rules of survival in Jeff Hirsch’s excellent, taut debut novel.” — Suzanne Collins, author of The Hunger Games
In an America devastated by war and plague, the only way to survive is to keep moving.
In the aftermath of a war, America’s landscape has been ravaged and two thirds of the population left dead from a vicious strain of influenza. Fifteen-year-old Stephen Quinn and his family were among the few that survived and became salvagers, roaming the country in search of material to trade for food and other items essential for survival.
But when Stephen’s grandfather dies and his father falls into a coma after an accident, Stephen finds his way to Settler’s Landing, a community that seems too good to be true, where there are real houses, barbecues, a school, and even baseball games. Then Stephen meets strong, defiant, mischievous Jenny, who refuses to accept things as they are. And when they play a prank that goes horribly wrong, chaos erupts, and they find themselves in the midst of a battle that will change Settler’s Landing forever.

I have been really beginning to enjoy futuristic reads. When I found this one, I just knew I had to sink my syringe into it!

Author: Lauren Kate
Pages: 432

Before Luce and Daniel met at Sword & Cross and fought immortals at Shoreline, they lived many lives. . . .

I absolutely fell in love with Fallen and Torment. Again, more angel novels! I'm addicted.

What reads are you waiting for this summer? What is your future addiction?
